 A week long orthoptics training has kicked off at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Nairobi.

The training will take place between 9th to 13 November, 2019.

There are visiting lecturers from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany who include Birgit Reindl, an orthoptist and teacher for orthoptic students, Simone Reipner, Orthoptist and Lisa Kast who is also an Orhoptist. 

Students and staff from the Department of Ophthalmology held a successful 4-day outreach in Garissa.

The outreach which was held from 11th to 14th November, 2019 saw more than 120 surgeries conducted on patients.

The surgeries were conducted by both resident and visiting doctors.
