The Department of Ophthalmology as part of the Faculty of Health Sciences has access to the library named Medical Library-located at the Kenyatta National Hospital along Ngong Road and provides services to undergraduate, postgraduate students as well as faculty and other research staff.

The department runs a state of the art eye clinic at the next to the University of Nairobi Dental Hospital. This clinic is equiped with modern equipment for diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. They include;

- Microscopes

-Slit lamps

-Automatic refractors

-OCT machines

-Visual field machines

- Retinal lasers

In addition to the lecture halls and teachng laboratories at the College of Health Sciences, the department has a seminar room, wet lab and skills lab used for teaching post graduate students
