First Scientific Congress of the College of Ophthalmology of East Central and Southern Africa (COECSA

Date & Time: From 2013-08-22
To 2013-08-23
Description of Conference

You are warmly invited to attend the First Scientific Congress of the College of Ophthalmology of East Central and Southern Africa (COECSA) which will be held in Kigali from 22 to 23 August 2013.

Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda and also the country’s vibrant commercial centre. It is a city that has not just survived, but has prevailed and has grown into a modern metropolis- a heart of the emerging Rwandan economy and the pride of every Rwandan. The latest Gallup Poll (Global States of Mind: New Metrics for World Leaders report) shows that Rwanda is the safest country to live in Africa. Kigali is blessed with a year round moderate climate and is particularly beautiful at night as the lights glimmer over a few of the country’s “one thousand hills”. We will soon send you a full list of hotels where you can stay at very competitive rates.

We have assembled a great faculty, organised a convenient venue, a large trade exhibition and fun social functions planned. There will be a full programme for Ophthalmologists and concurrent programmes for our Allied Health Professionals. The conference theme is Eye Health: Innovation, Delivery and Impact and we welcome members to examine the cutting-edge issues affecting eye health in our region.

So block out your diaries and book your tickets! We are looking forward to meeting you in Kigali in August at what promises to be a most stimulating and enjoyable event! Kind regards Dr John Nkurikiye Chairman, Rwanda Ophthalmic Society Host of COECSA 2013
